We work directly with artisan miners in the Madre de Dios region of Peru who are using mercury-free mining practices. This ensures they have access to a market for this clean gold that supports their livelihoods while keeping their lands and our oceans clean of this toxic pollutant.

Our initiative also supports ongoing education efforts in the area to help additional artisanal miners transition to mercury-free gold, and reforestation work to return the lands to their original ecosystem.
